Bayesian Truth Serum is a mechanism for eliciting honest opinions on subjective questions. Participants report both their own answer and their prediction of how others will answer. Responses are rewarded when they are more common than collectively predicted, creating incentives for truthful reporting even when no objective ground truth exists.
Nicolas combines quadratic voting, where expressing stronger preferences carries an increasing cost, with liquid democracy, where voters can delegate voting power to trusted representatives. Built on the quadratic-transfers mechanism, it asymptotically implements utilitarian outcomes in Bayes-Nash equilibrium under quasilinear preferences.
